    I believe its an older more stylized word for look.

    Not in that sense, Wundwolf. 'Lo' is simply a remnant of Vulgar Latin. The phrase 'Deus Lo Vult' means 'God wills it' in Vulgar Latin, just as 'Deus Vult' means the same thing in regular ole Latin.

    So in vulgar Latin the phrase is longer than in regular Latin? That's strange.
