    Default Popes Die Off

Well, i have a problem with DLV 3.2, but people told me that they don't think it's mod-specific, so I post it here again...

So here is the problem: Sicily attacked the Papal States and succesfully conquered Rome. So, the Papal States had no regions and normally, they would approach me or other christian sides and ask for a new region. But well in fact, they didn't. So now, the popes started to die off. Every round, a new Pope was elected just to die immediately the round after. Luckily, i had a diplomat near Rome and bought it from the Sicilians and then gave it to the Pope who was standing in the territory... Well, now The Papal States have an own Region again... But the popes still die every round! They now appear in Rome, but have no Command, Chivalry or Authority, just some piety... And then they die next round, no matter how old they are or how high their piety is. I'm afraid Europe will soon run out of Cardinals because at the moment, I am the only side who still has some .

Anyone knows what to do against it?

Put a spy next to the pope. All I can think off is he's being assassinated.

If not, must be a bug.

Try killing him in a battle before he dies of "unnatural" courses, maybe that will end the bug (if, ofcourse, he isnt being assassinated)

I always let it run its course. (Usually) The new Pope for what ever reason always spawns near Rome even if they don’t control Rome and Sicily attacks and kills them off over and over again. Eventually or should I say hopefully they will get it back and secure the Papal States again. If your playing a Christian faction as you are it gets un-nerving because all your cardinals end up dead. (this is not an assassin it's an army fighting them) I have never seen a time when it’s vanquished they’ll wait and wait until someone has a cardinal to elect. The game will always have someone who has a cardinal even if your entire pool of cardinals met this fait. I wouldn’t have however given a territory to the Pope they will not use it really until Rome is back in there hands. You can also do this; as a Christian faction keep a diplomat at Rome and move an army there to conquer the Sicilians take Rome back and as soon as your diplomat sees the Pope gift Rome to them. It should be a done deal. Keeping an army there for a while is also needed after you gift it to the Pope to insure Sicily doesn’t march back in and take it again. As a non-Christian faction this is the one of the best things that can happen in the game. The Papacy is busy fighting Sicily and will not Crusade against your lands. It’s beautiful when this happens. And no it’s not MOD specific it does and can happen in any game.

SO why didn't you try to burn the Heretics and get your own Pope?
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)
