Two things: Extensive Scripts + Size of Map (+ # of settlements)
The map is vanilla's (only about 10 regions more) and no extra scripts.

Dude you are freakin weird. No offense though but can you speak in proper english? I belive you aren't an orc yourself. Anyways, back to topic, is the slow loading time possibly due to the fact that the game has to read between the original data and mod folders when using a mod? If so, is there any way to get around this?

If you're talking about end-turn times, then it's probably 'cause SS did slightly expand the map to cover more area and has three more factions which means more units, more agents each end-turn.
Oh SS. I installed SS 4.0 yesterday and I must say the loading time is insane with it. I could perhaps fit it a meal every time it needs to load...My most played mod, The Sicilian Vespers, has ALOT faster loading time, and this is weird since SV adds more factions and regions than SS to the (vanilla) map...maybe there is more event sripting in SS (like "AI King dead / Princess news / etc.")...
Edit: Oh right, forgot the added size to the map in SS

I get the same thing, might be because of things being changed, loading different textures, better AI loading? @Warboss: isn't there a Warhammer forum where other people can understand you? Mabye they could even lend you costumes!

Heck, is there a way to get around the slow loading time when using mods?

Obvious isn’t it adding additional content and there you go. No brainer, also depends on how fast your PC is, how much RAM, how powerful your video card will certainly help. Turning off flag animations, reducing resolution and graphic quality will help. That’s pretty much it or remove the MODs. Why do you think the original design of the game was built the way it is? They too tested and seen the more script for the AI, additional territories and such was causing extended load times to occur, sometimes things are left out because of how long the content is going to take to load. There was a discussion on this about the ultimate TW game or something someone posted long time ago and upon reading that post my comment remains do you realize how long it would take the average computer just to load what you guys are talking about? How can we add more content without having to wait for it to load? Humm, lets see … you can’t!![]()
