    Default Military Students' Best Classroom

    ... the battlefield.

    Just wondering if it might not make sense for a family member who is a military student to obtain as much if not more Command bonuses and positive sombat traits studying military tactics in the field under the tutelage of a 5-star general, for example?

    I mean theory will only get you so far, right?

    this is probably more complicated than possible to implement but ideally hanging out with a high-ranking general and learning the ropes in battles with him for 10 turns should be as valuable if not more valuable as 10 turns studying the theory of battle.

    Is it possible for a military student to get "course credits" for participating in battles where the general in command had a certain number of stars?

    ... I apologize in advance for even suggesting this as I think the student element is a great extension of the DLV mod and I have a tendency to suggest improvements that are either impossible or a huge amount of work.

    I like your idea, hope its possible. I would keep current education and add postgraduate education in the field, like a sabbatical.

    There are quite a few traits/triggers for generals to obtain through battles. Personally I think they need some tweaking. How they work with more than one family member I'm unsure. I think it just affects the one leading (Either the Faction Leader, or person with the most command stars). The vanilla traits that is. However there is the "Knight" system that repman has included. Could possibly build off of that...

    I know Belgae wants to work on allowing Career Generals to govern castles without any penalty, and perhaps even a bonus to recruitment and such.

    Oh wow, this stuff sounds awesome. Hope they all come together in a beautiful super RPG mod.

    Mentor Mod is pretty nice, but it requires having the generals in a settlement instead of in the field. Can't currently find a way for it to work the same in the field.

    @StrikeQ ...

    If you can find a solution to this that would be great ... not only would it mean it would add to gameplay but also means that I actually made one feasible suggestion for something.

    +Rep waitin' fer ya, dude.

    Actually finished this before it was time to go to work. Although I won't be able to do much testing of it for a few hours, it is now posted so you all can try it out and help test it for me =)
