Yes.
Witness Naval battles. On VH the human needs better ships to have a reasonable chance of victory.

Is that battle difficulty or campaign difficulty?
battle but campaign mite play apart to
Yeah the battle difficulty will change a lot. Since in Rome TW higher battle difficulties give the AI higher Morale and stats. Since your will be ai controlled during an auto resolve you can't know if they will use a good tactic. I've seen enemy armies charge straight into phalanxes many times. So auto resolving will be a bad choice if you set the battle difficulty on H/VH
I have witnessed that campaign difficulty does affect autoresolve. There is a difference between M, H and VH campaign difficulty when auto-resolving battles. Very easy to see with naval battles. On VH a single AI bireme can easily sink a 3 times as strong fleet.
Can't say if the battle difficulty does something too, I always play on medium.
Dangit. Does Very Hard campaign AI actually do anything different, or does it just affect auto-resolve?
Do you think setting it to medium would make the AI too crappy? We're doing play by email, but having it at anything besides medium would make it unfair in human vs human autoresolves...
The AI sucks on every difficulty level![]()
But medium/medium is the best and fairest decision for mp.
