    Default Help! Game can't proceed

Hi, sorry if this have been posted before, tried to search for a similar problem but didn't find anything.

Anyway. My Grand Campaign doesn't work because everytime i conquer a city or win a battle the general-character gets stuck (and do a shaky-thing) when he tries to pull back his sword on the strategic map! So I never recieve the message about what to do with the settlement/prisoners, and the game therefore can't proceed. (I am able to quick-load or open the menu)

    My operating system is VISTA
My specs should be good enough:
    2ghz intel core 2 duo
    2gb DDR-II Ram
    Geforce 8600M GT (512mb)

(I also posted this in the technical section, sorry mods, but i'm really desperate)

Try reinstalling the game. Disk Cleanup, Defragment, and virus check.

    Odds are you're using a no-cd crack.

If so, remove it (a reinstall will probably be necessary).

If not, make sure you're not running any 1.1 mods on 1.2.

Yes, i'm using a no-cd crack since the game freeze if I don't put (the .exe) into windows xp service pack 2 compatibility -> Resulting in the computer won't recognize my official dvd-rom.
So it's either freeze or non-startup... haha - frustrating as .....

As you aren't using the official .exe problems are to be expected, and the only advice you're going to get is to use the official .exe.

Look through this thread, hopefully you're problem has been resolved in it.

You are running Vista? I had the same problem with Vista did not recognize my DVDRom. I solved it. I used blindwrite to make images of my original MTW2 disks. Then I installed latest Daemon Tools with all emulation on.

Then I mounted the first image in Daemon Tools, and voila it runs. No crack, just original .exe
