Default what upgrades should i get for my pc

I have a dell dimension e310 and i was wondering what upgrades i should get for my computer. I already have got 2gb of ram and a geforce fx 5200 256mb which i was told was the best my pc could handle. Is there a better graphics card my computer can handle and what other upgrades do you recommend i get.

You really ought to upgrade your video card but firstly you need to establish what sort of slot your motherboard has. Ideally you want a PCI-Express slot, if not you need a AGP slot. If your computer is running of a bog standard PCI slot then your in trouble, as you will have to upgrade the motherboard as well.

    Edit:

I found this on the dell site, http://www.dell.com/content/products...&l=en&s=dfDell Site

Sorry it appears what the guy told is true, the 5200 is most likely the best card you can get for it. Your options are either a full system upgrade or a new motherboard that’s compatible with your CPU but has a PCI-express 16x port.

Question is: what is the upgrade for? Faster game performance? Larger storage? Better sound? Cool to look at?

I mean you can always buy larger and faster HD's, more effective and more silent fans, better soundcard etc etc...

    post us all you specs.

I run with a reasonably oldish setup and the game is very smooth.

    1) AMD64 4000+
    2) MSI K8N Neo4 f motherboard
    3) X1950pro pci express gpu
    4) 1GB ram
    5) Audigy soundcard.

I was able to play this game smoothly with my Amd64 3500+ and a 7600gt.
You would be suprised at how small an upgrade is required to get this game running smoothly at sensible resolutions.(1024 by 768 to 1280 by 1024)
