    Default Buy new computer?

I'm looking at buying this new computer, wondering if it will do what I need it to. Basically run MTW2 at high resolution, huge settings, full shaders on, massive battles, etc....basically do it all while hopefully costing under $1,000.
    The configuration:
    CPU> AMD Athlon 64x2 5600+ dual core AM2 2048k cache
    motherboard> ECS nforce4m -A, PCI-Ex, DDR2,sound/lan
    RAM> 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 DDR2 800 dualchannel
VideoCard> GeForce 8600GT 256mb pci express dual head
    Hard Drive> 250 GB Hitachi/IBM 7200rpm SATA2
    OS> Windows xp home
    500 watt power supply.
You think this will do it?

Well, despite the lack of advice from anyone here, I took the dive and got a new computer. Unfortunately not the one described above. I hope I didn't mess up. Here's the spec's:

    intel core 2 duo E6550 2.33ghz 1333fsb 4mb cache
    2 GB DDR2 RAM 667mhz
    320 GB hard drive 7200rpm
integrated intel vid card(need advice on replacement)
    windows vista premium.

So, aside from the vid card situation, do you think I'll be alright?
    Thanks!

My only concern is if you got or are getting a compatible motherboard? That CPU needs the faster FSB motherboard, G33 (micro), P35, 680i, 650i. Video card should really be an 8800 GTS if possible and if you plan to overclock your RAM will hold you back from the get go. Also don't overlook getting a solid power supply.

Overall it's a good start to a good build.

    Wasn't really planning on overclocking...
I'm getting the Intel G33 motherboard and a 500watt power supply.
    Really think the 8800gts?

Yeah or if that's too much then go for the x1950xt. But 8800 GTS is probably worth the extra bit of money. As for overclocking it's fine but in the future if it would be nice to push a little more out when you need it. Almost all C2D's can overclock well on stock everything, but with 667 RAM your running at your RAM's stated speed from the get go.

Overclocking isn't for everyone and that's fine, but keep in mind it does allow you to get more for your money than otherwise would be. In my case I was able to double the speed of a bargain based chip.
