help unlocking romano-british in BI please?

first time poster, long time RTW & BI player

i followed the guide on the Wiki for making Romano Britain playable, and the game is playable as other factions, and the R-B's appear to be playing fine under the AI, however, on the menu screen for choosing the faction to play as in campaign, as soon as i click the R-B icon, i get an immediate CTD.

i use show_err , and as i said, the game plays fine as other factions, no map.rwn (sp?) is created, i dont even reach the faction description.

has anyone any idea what would be wrong?

help would be very appreciated.

Some Factions are just not ment to be played as they are buggy...

You need to go to the folder, bi/data/world/maps/base and delete the map.rwm file, a new one is generated whenever you start up the game, you need to do this because you have made changes to files which are reference by the map.rwm on start up.

Doesn't it say that on the Wiki, it needs editing in if not.

Halie Satanus - i have deleted the map.rwm file, so unfortunatly that cant be it
as for goth's mod, im reluctant to use that, as my bi is heavily modded, and i dont really want to have to make a backup of all my modded files so that i can install goth's mod over a fresh,clear install, but thanks for the link!

umm - I think the wiki description and post it links to is me....

it should work, is normally quite simple to do - problem can't be leader names as that would CTD whoever you started as - I'd guess some other sort of error in their descr_strat.txt entry (did you take out dead_until_resurrected in strat and emerge_on_event in sm_factions?).

If it's not those could you zip and upload your descr_strat, descr_sm_factions, export_descr_buildings.txt and descr_regions.txt which should be the relevant files, and post link, so I could have a look - or email them to me?
