The idea would be that as TW give you a nice family tree and a loyalty system, it should be possible to check to see if when a faction leader dies, is there a better claimant to the throne than the official faction heir? What if the faction heir is under-age? Or is the best claimant a woman?
If the faction heir is *not* clearly the best in line of succession (i.e. they are not the first born son of the late King), there should be a risk of civil war as some other claimant (which can be deduced from the family tree) presses their claim instead.
If this occurs, then the loyalty system can be used to see who is likely to side with the 'official' faction heir and who will side with the would-be claimant (Pretender). Leaders who side with the Pretender would bring their provinces with them and if they take the capital, they will crown their man 'King'.
The Pretender's army should not be 'rebel' but rather a new faction (i.e. not grey).
This would not just add a big element of the reality of feudal monarchy, it would be fun and require you to keep an eye on which member of the family is where and just how loyal are they to the faction heir.
so...
a) is this doable?
b) is it even a good idea?![]()
