Looking to Get a New Computer

So I'm looking to upgrade my six year old Dell. Basically my benchmark is, I want a computer that can smoothly run Medieval II at 1028x724 resolution with maximum graphics settings. SMOOTHLY.

What sort of build should I reasonably expect for something like this?

How much should I reasonably expect to spend?

Are you building your own? Are you buying from a manufacturer?

I'd say that if you're building your own computer, you can get a machine for ~$1000 that would run at your specified settings. The price range for a manufacturer-made machine would be around that range too...although it might be a bit higher.

Basically look for a middle-of-the-road CPU (~Core 2 Duo 6400) with a good last-gen video card (7900 gtx) and you should be able to hit your mark.
