Crash from battle
This just started happening where I try and fight a battle on the map manually and when I have completed my deployment, it says "Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecified error and will now close." I reinstalled the game and installed the 1.1 patch and have never installed the 1.2 patch because I've heard of the problems it causes. Should I install the 1.2 patch? Can anyone tell me why it's crashing like this?

Re: crash from battle
As far as I know Gabe the 1.1 and 1.2 patches leak memory and both share this issue. You cannot have 1.1 installed in order to patch with 1.2 it has to be a clean install meaning “Uninstall the game remove folders it leaves behind and install the game” then add the patch re-boot the system right after this and keep your fingers crossed. Sometimes it holds sometimes not. You may have to uninstall then re-install several times before it holds. It’s a bad patch on both good luck what ever you decide to do.

Yes. Delete the game, then reinstall the game. Do not patch to 1.1, but go straight to 1.2 - see if that works. If not, then try changing the graphics settings, although I doubt that is a problem here.
