    Default Mesopotamia TW

    Ok, i must confess .

I am working on another mod for RTW as well as Narnia TW ,i have not thought up a name for it yet but it is based around mesopotamia in about 1300-bc

I am not sure what the platform for the mod will be yet either bi or rtw .

    Cultures:

    1. North African/Egyptian
    a. Egyptian New Kingdom
    b. Lybian Tribes
    c. Nubian Tribes
    d. Cretans

    2. for lack of a better name Levant culture
    a. Assyria
    b. Mittani
    c. Philistines
    d. Canaanites

    3. Hittite/Homeric Greek
    a. Hittites
    b. Trojans/Wilusa
    c. Mycenaeans

    4. Hebrew
    a. Judea

    Units:
Infantry: There will be mostly infantry (North Africans and Judea will have a wide variety of cheaper light infantry while the rest will have access to heavily armored infantry that is more expensive with fewer numbers
    (particularly the Hittite/Homeric Greek culture).

Ranged: There will also be quite a lot of ranged units (though not as much as regular infantry) with decent slingers and bowmen who can fire rapidly into enemy masses and then retreat. Javelinmen will also be available but in larger numbers to the Lybian and Nubian factions.

Chariotry: These will be the elite corps of the factions in this era. North Africans will have much lighter chariots that will deal most of their damage from afar. Levant and Hittite culture chariots will be much heavier (and preferably four horsed) chariotry to smash into the masses of infantry in the battles.

Cavalry: There will be none as cavalry wasn't prevalent or even existant among the factions portrayed in this mods time frame.

The main methods of warfare in this era was to either have the ranged units dump all their ammo onto enemy followed by infantry charge,
OR (heavy) chariots rip through enemy formations with their own infantry charging into their wake.

Note this idea was taken from capt james crunch all though i had been thinking of it for ages ..

And yes i am still going to be working on narnia total war ( recently i have been working on it more than ever ) it is just i could not get this mod idea out of my head

Yes, thanks both of u .

I went out and brought a new book on this time range ( with good reference pics ) so i can learn a bit more about it, and i might add a few factions , anyway the models are progressing fairly fast i managed to complete 2 yesteday and 1 building model is complete ( solomons temple for the isralites or Judea ) i will post pick s when i have exported them as cas. ( i have uv mapped them but i can not skin very well so we are needing a skinner )

dre123, it would be great if u could help with research, at the moment buildings and units are what we need most reseach for .

here is the map ( if we find a mapper ) the area will cover

I have found out that egypt(the new kingdom) used light infantry, levies backed by mercenaries from libya and nubia. They also had a professional elite core of troops - I cant find very much information on these though

    WOW, Thanks so much .
P.S Can not wait untill october

here is a philstine i have half done the skin but not added the detail into the skin as i am not a skinner but a modeler so please if u are a skinner help and also the reson his face is funny is because i have not mirrored it yet, also the reason he is blue and not red is because half the images i have seen are of a philstine blue and half are red so i just went with blue

I'd like to point out that that's the king, on 2 grounds:
    1-his helmet
2-there is a relif of the exact same scene in a palace in assyria
