Default Would installing a mod make the game performance more slow?

I just got this game yesterday, I am not sure, but it seems like its running on max specs and runs as well as RTW with mods(which seems to take forever to load) and possibly even loads at the same speed if not faster.

If I installed a mod(I dunno if any of them are good, but there is a Warhammer mod in development in another forum that seems interesting, guess I have to wait for them to release it), would load times and game performance suffer?

    maybe is the asnwer.

some mods like the arrow mod and certain large scripts make the game load/play slower.

It depends on the mod. If the mod contains large scripts, uses tonnes of highly detailed models and textures, or has a larger campaign map and battle maps, then there is more data to load and the performance may be adversely affected.

Most mods don't have any noticeable affect as far as I've seen, but there are some mods that have caused lag for me, such as the EuropaBarbarorum mod for RTW (with its mass of scripts and such). I haven't tried out every M2TW mod so I don't know if there are any mods that will cause such problems... yet.
Besides, if your computer can handle M2TW fine as it is, then a few more scripts shouldn't cause much trouble.

Some mods may use features such as scripts, which would make the particular mod slower. It would not effect other mods or the unmodified game (if you use mod switch, which should happen).
