Faction Portraits

Just wondered if anyone could tell me how to change the character portraits for a faction or the order in which they appear.

you can find all the portraits in the game ,you need to unpack ui_0.pak,and you will find them there,(you need to download Pak extractor from here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...?do=file&id=43,put it in (Pack folder)

and how do i change which ones appear for each roman faction or assign them in any order/to a specific character?

You can't portraits are assigned randomly, except for the ones used for characters which you start the game with but I'm not sure how those are assigned I think it might just be number order so the first picture goes to the head of the family, eldest son the second and so on, but don't quote me on that.

I believe it chooses the portraits in order of their list in descr_strat.

what do you mean? i don't see any reference to portraits in the descr_strat

NO ,in the descr_strat you can choose the names only ,but the pictures and the generals..... cards are assigned randomly.

Okay, I thought so.
But still, the begining characters always have the same portraits and if you delete one of those start up characters, or age them to the 'old' limit, the nearest family member switches to that portrait.
So there must be some sort of reference for them, maybe the leader_pic files for the roman factions?

Just tested the leader_pic thing, doesn't work.

Hmmm... Well does it change every time? I mean, if you create a new general in descr_strat, and it chooses the portrait randomly, does it have that portrait every time you start a campaign, or does it choose a new one every time?

The pictures are changing only,and not every time ,they are changed when you edit the desc_strat,i think.
