add a new faction just for custom battles

i want to add a new faction but just for custom battle, how might i do this

You can change the ownership of Units for Factions
in the last line of every Unit is the ownership
change it to the faction which you want
You need a free slot for a new faction

lets say i have in my possession some mauryan units and i wanted to include them to spqr (which has no indian faction) is that what i would do?

lets say you want to replace egypt
go export descr_units and delete the ownership egypt in ever line
then go and add your mauryan units
add ownership egpt
thats all

if you want you can replace mauryan ones with egyptian ones then you dont need to chnage the ownership
