I was reading about the costs of manufacturing a PS3 and the Xbox 360 it’s clear that Sony and Microsoft sell them at a loss and try to recover the money from game sales. It got me thinking whether this is a good strategy or not and how risky it is or if it could ever work. Now since both console have been out for less then twos years (the PS3 for an even shorter period) I conducting this survey on the previous generation of consoles.
I would stress that when you answer your answer truthfully because this is primary research (albeit not very scientific) and the integrity of the data is what I’m basing the findings on.
I want to know how many game you brought from NEW i.e. what games you brought from the shop or you ordered from an online store. Second hand purchases from E-bay or Amazon market places don’t count. I know a lot of you own more then one console so please vote for which console you have had the longest or have the most games for. I appreciate all those who have taken the time to answer, thank you.

The last console I owned was the doomed Sega Saturn, I must have had 20 games for that half of which I brought from new, the rest were second hand or swaps.
