Italian Units
I adore Europa Barbarorum, but I also play a lot of R:TRPE with Candelarius' Extended Realism Mod. What I find particularly attractive about the latter is the abundance of regional Italian units. In brief, these include Marsi, Samnite and Etruscan specific infantry, accurately-sized triarii and a unit of Italic skirmishers and cavalry. Upgrades to the basic military structures turn these early units (swordsmen with javelins, spearmen and hoplites) into Italic hastati, principes and triarii respectively. While EB does have Latin extraordinarii, Samnite and Lucanian regiments, I wonder whether this kind of "fuller" representation of the early Republican army might be more accurate?
Specifically, I'm trying to work out a way to export some of these RTRPE units into EB and I was wondering what the best way of going about it might be. Are there enough 'hidden resources' left in EB to create this kind of regional recruitment? Could I link a change from these early Italic units to Romanised ones to the Polybian reform event (removing them entirely by the time of the Marian reform)?
I'm not much of a modder, so these questions may seem somewhat naive, but I'd just be interested to read what people think about the historicity of the Republican Roman army in the game.

Re: Italian Units
Well, right now, the Samnites etc already go away by the Marian Reform. If you know how to add units, you can add unit from other mods and add them to the A1 (Camilian) and/or A2 (Polybian) barracks, but not the B1 (Marian) and they will disappear at the Marian Reforms.
There are a couple other Italian units being made (mostly to help out non-Roman conquerors of Italia), but they always seem to be incomplete. I think the last one being made was completed then never submitted by a team member who disappeared.
As for Italian Hastati/Princepes/Triarii, those are in EB, they just are the same unit as the normal type. Since they use the same equiptment, training, tactics, and would have been just as good as Roman Hastati etc it would be a waste of a unit space to make three copy units. Just consider H/P/T recruited in non-Rome, non-Latin Italia to be the Italian allied legions.
