    Icon14 Congratulations!

I'd just like to post my congratulations to Lusted (et al) on the creation of a great mod.

I'm only twenty or so years into it after starting it yesterday as the English but it appears on first trial that its just what I was looking for in that it's subtle in its changes but improves the whole experience in a major way.

The main improvements for me - apart from the obvious years instead of turns one - are that the battles are more realistic in their slower pace, better accuracy of archers?, weaker cavalry, and the battle game seems to be more balanced generally (and more MTW-ish).

Also seeing the Plantagenets back is a nice aspect of the mod, as is seeing more balance in AI armies, and having agents reach their targets quicker.

Diplomacy also seems improved but I'm not sure if that's the 1.2 patch or the mod. Either way it's better, and I may be wrong but I don't recall the scroll in Vanilla informing you that two of your allies are engaged in war, do you want to favour the aggressor...? That's more MTW-ish too which is always an improvement in my book.

Anyway well done. I'm sure I'll enjoy it even more as I progress.

    Cheers!

I'm glad you are enjyoing the mod.

The diplomacy in 3.0 is just the vanilla 1.2 one, 3.1 will have some tweaks to campaign ai and diplomacy in it, as well as changes to province names so they are no longer the generic London Region names, and instead things like Wessex, Anjou, Livonia etc. There is also going to be a new rebel naming system in it, check out the thread in this forum for more info.

Ah right, thought it might have been having re-checked your list. I went straight to 1.2 plus LTC instead of playing 1.2 alone first.

I'd be interested to know what your diplomacy and campaign AI tweaks are going to be. Do you think it will make a big difference to the experience? If so I may have to start all over again when you release 3.1....

PS. Be good to see some of the old region names back too, although I don't mind the new ones.

Well the campaign ai tweaks will be making the ai garrison it's settlements better and attack in more force, and make the Mongols/Timurids more aggressive. The diplomacy won't really be tweaked, but i'm making changes to the faction standings so that you won't end up with as bad a reputation or relations so often so diplomacy will work better.

Do you think it will make a big difference to the experience?
    Hopefully.

    Good stuff.

The garrison tweak and larger attacking force will make a big difference I think.

On the topic - I managed to sneak up and take Edinburgh that I had spotted was left with a garrison of just 4 units, which resulted in the Scots being wiped-out and their impressive full-stack army stranded as rebels after they had gone for Dublin...

Maybe it was just a lucky break though, I've wandered off on the attack leaving little defence at my rear before now. Still, naive of the Scots having only one province
