    Default Editing primary weapon

    Ive been messing around a bit with export_descr_unit.txt and I wanted to remove the phalanx ability and remove the spears from the spartan hoplites, so they would allways use their secundary weapon, the sword.

    I edited it all and now, in-game, they fight with their spears, while using the sword animations.

    Here's how my export_descr_unit.txt looks:

    they're skeletons are spearmen ( fs_slow_spearman) not swordsmen. You have to edit descr_model_battle.

    In Descr_model_battle try putting (, fs_s1_swordsman) after fs_slow_spearman with the comma. I don't know if it will work??

    I allready edited descr_model_battle. They do use the swordsman animations.
    The problem is, they still hold spears in their hands.

    show me your descr_model_battle Spartan entry pls. I'm using Darthmod at the mo and my spartans only use spears. the Armored Hoplites use spears and they revert to sword for close quarter battle. i assume it's the same for you?

    The model has a spear as it's primary weapon. Not to sure of a way to change with just text editing.

    A unit is made up of various elements, in 3d/2d form you have the Model (.Cas), Texture (.tga), Skeleton, and Animation, then the various text files, edu, dmb, ect...Now the bit you want to change is the primary weapon, unfortunately the primary weapon isn't only governed by the text files, in the model it is actually named 'primary weapon', so if it's a spear it will always be a spear, no matter what animation set or skeleton you apply.

    You need someone with 3d max to swap the primary spear for a sword.

    Or, my guess is someone already has such a model, it's a common request. Ask spirit of rob, or Publius.

    I think then they would run into battle empty handed, not sure, never tried.
