I was just granted 2x 20000 gold pieces. It's my 6 turn. Besides that my cardinal was elected pope.
Is it only my happy day or these 2 gifts were "because of something"

i was playing as england, and i got a 20000 gift from my nobles, supposedly because "They liked me or somet" but i think it may have been because it was very early in the game (5th-10th turn) and i would have been on the red in my balancebook otherwise.
I've been granted 1000-10000Fl from nobles/pope randomly (Good Standing with Pope/all cities happy etc etc) Never 20000 though. And I don't believe it's done to keep you from going red, as I've gone red many times (Money wise).

The most I've ever been gifted is 10000 but I always play on VH perhaps on easier difficulties you get more money?
I second StrikeQ's post. It's pretty random & not a device of the campaign script to make the game easier.

I got 2x 20000 on VH/ VH so it's not question of these settings
I see that 20000 is an option, and I know where you can edit that value. But I've yet to find out the triggers for it happening.
Edit: Seems it can happen from starting from turn 3, having a ~0.5% chance of happening a turn. If you have closer to 0 money you get 20000, if you have closer to 10000 you get 5000. If you have closer to 20000 you get 10000. At least I think I'm reading that right.

I've received two gifts of 5,000F and 10,000F in 50+ years of my campaign to date. I'm not clear what the trigger for either could have been as I was not in the red when I received my first gift nor had I been playing long enough to be in the nobles' good graces.
Could it be a combination of completing missions for the nobles and overall happiness?
it is probably just the case that, for every game, the system makes a random roll on a table, with like 200-1 odds, which is .5% chance i think, of getting 20,000 florins, 100-1 odds or 1% chance of 10,000 florins, etcetera etcetera and it makes this roll every turn at the beginning of your turn until death do grind you to dust.
I am total newbie for DLV (not total war itself), just started Norway on H/H, expecting real challenge, which was true when I spotted strong rebel forces/forts around my cities. Luckily, King Hakkon was able man, who vanquished a rebel force on 1st turn with help of mercenaries, which costed me red balance - well, I was rather excited as this is what I wanted from DLV!
However, to my surprise, with the start of turn 2, noble council granted me 20,000 F for nothing. Kingdom of Norway is poorest country, but her nobles seems too rich!![]()
Much kudos for using the search engine, sir![]()
