Default Post A Picture of Your Campaign

So, as the old thread went walkies as far as I can see, let's start her up again!

    Me first:

As usual, everyone's went on the 'Great Northern Land Grab' once more...

Me and the dirty Seluecids out in front, with surprise packages, the Thracians and Parthians fighting it out with Greece in 3rd, 4th and 5th spot.

The Germans have gone for a stroll.. and have been going for a stroll for a good ten years now, not fighting at all. Think of the Cimbri-Teutone migration, but on drugs. And not steroids. Relaxants maybe. They're happy just to stroll around eating berries.. lazy Germans. Give them 2000 years or so, and they might get their act together.

That's the Roman Rebels faction (I'm playing MetroNaval mod on BI).

They appear when a Roman settlement rebels. I let it rebel.

This is my thracian campaign. I am having an easy time since I drove the macedonians out. Phalanx based armies have become an easy piece of cake to chew. I had a hard time tho, since every single neighbour wants my precious lands... Actually diplomacy in 1.2 sucks so it's self-explanatory why they all tend to ally the one turn and commence war on the next... I've found a rather exploitable issue this way.... the macedonians wanted me to become their protectorate, so I accepted versus 15 000 denarii... only to see them besieging my town the next turn. Good deal, I guess. I had some interesting generals too... one of them was born with the affix "the crippled" but he has become "the conqueror" like 15 years later.

Damn I miss playing RTR constantly.

Looking at your Empires reminds me just why I played: It was seeing all those trade ships travelling the seas and the carts carrying goods travelling the roads indicating a prosperous and healthy Empire.

I just don't have the time atm, until 7.0 or TIC at least....

Actually, if you're at war with anybody, you wouldn't be able to establish any naval trade route. Hence even the ptolemaics blocked a port of mine for no reason at all, thus ruining the nice trade route between Tylis and Maronia. It was good days. :/

Playing as the Macedonians, my favorite faction since RTW Vanilla....

United the Greek mainland/peninsula and vanquished the Greek Cities into seclusion, rather quickly and easily. In the end, what was left of their settlements(about 1-2 left) were conquered not by myself, but by the Romans, whom are one of my allies. So Rome bestowed upon them their extinction, which I did not get the chance to finish. But nevertheless, they are out of my way.

Have nearly conquered the Illyrians and Thracians, after they have provokingly attacked me. Although the war with the Thracians is taking a considerable amount of time, but nonetheless, they are doomed to destruction....after losing several settlements and vast armies.

The war with the Seclued Empire is nearly half accomplished, as I have nearly drained their total man power by 1/3 and conquered their territories by 1/3 with just one General/army alone. They are the most powerful force on earth/Mediterranean atm, but it's time for them to taste true phalanx steel. But the main strategic choke-point that the S. Empire has lost, was the Aegean(sea), which I have grasped for my taking.

The Seclued Empire has attacked me quite frequently in the past, but in turn got so utterly defeated beyond humiliation, that they have asked for several peace treaties, which I accepted. Now, they will get a taste of their own medicine. NO mercy. NO sympathy for these bastards.

Btw, the year is 252 BC. I have conquered more than 30 settlements. The game mode is on VERY HARD for both battles and campaign settings. The rest of the details I will post up shortly.

RTR is one of not that many mods where Romans are really progressing quickly into barbarian territories. I really like it. :-)

    RTR 6 Gold Germanic campaign

I am allied with Rome, Macedon, Sarmations and Iberians and at war with Gaul....

Looks like Roma, Carthage and Seleucids are being beaten up. I've not seen the Gaul settlements in Tylis and Ancyra for a long time - they used to rebel in previous versions of RTR.

    RTR 6 Gold Macedonian Campaign

I am allied to Ptolemaic, Pontus and Sarmations. I am at war with Rome and The Greek Cities. Rome and Germany had been my allies but the Romans declared war and I sided with them. I knew I was in trouble when the Romans appeared in Thrace. I have been at war with the Seleucids but they are currently neutral.

I am holding off the Roman hordes at the moment (yes, cheese bridge defense tactics) but I have defeated several large armies in the field with my two assault armies (one of which is currently returning from Asia Minor).

    I may invade Italy....

Seleucid Campaign I am at war with everyone allied to none

And you might notice that the GREEKS rule the Italian peninsular that is

because I gave them insane money to conquer the macedonians and they did

but also conquered the Romans! Of course I had to cut down on their power a

bit so I took the balkans

The gauls were pressed on all sides, by the Germanians, the Iberians, and their Italian territories by the Greeks and so faltered and crumbled

edit: I took syracuse by bribing and it is currently besieged by the greeks
