hi this will been my very first AAR so im looking forward to how it developes in the end. I will be basing the story on a Danish campaign using the different years to structure the thread. I will be using version 1.2 without any mods installed. The difficulty will be hard for both the campaign and battles. I will hopefully post some screenshots of the action. I will be grateful for any coments about how the thread is going and on the AAR. Feel free to say what ever you want, Thanks

Our beloved nation has been plagued from raids from the pagan dogs north of us. Our once great kingdom which strenched to the shores of Britain has collasped but now is the time for the Danish people to regain our former strengh and rebuild the Danish once great kingdom.

1080-King Knud
I ordered the forest around our capital Arhus to be cleared to make room for more farms. The extra produce will provide the armies for the exphasion of our lands. One of my informants and good friend, Kolbein of Holmr told me of the german rebel castle Hamburg south of our borders, sadly he was caught and executed. His death must be avenged and our borders expanded.

I summoned a force made out of some of the most exprienced soldiers from the danish lands which I will lead personally. My daughter boarded a long boat ands travaled towards the island of england to start up diplomatic talks between our people and my son and heir was given governeship of Arhus while I am marching towards Hamburg and if god is willing Victory!

Our forces marched southward through the german country side towards the rebel castle, When we reached Hamburg we found the germans outnumbered but defended behind strong stone walls. Our army besieged the castle blockading it blocking support from the outside world while we built rams and ladders to take the walls. We must pray to the lord for our successful capture of the german castle.

While i was besieging Hamburg. My royal Cardinal travaled to the pagan settlement of Stettin to spread the lords words. In england my daugther arranged a marriage between our family and the english one with the english princess to my son to ally our countries and hopefully secure our good relations between our peoples.

My son Prince Charles ordered the building of a town guard in Arhus to recuit more soldiers into our growing army. Back in northen german our men prepared for the bloody assualt against the garrison when I received a letter from one of the inhabitants call.
"My lord, I understand well that even if our men face your attack that we have no chance of repelling your forces and once they are over the walls your men will rape and slaughter. If you shall ensure mine and my family's safety I will open the gates for your army and allow you in"
I accepted the offer understanding how it could save many of my mens lives. We advanced early in the morning against an unprepaired force. The gates were open as promised and soon my men had captured the castle killing all of the enemy and sacking the town and allowing my men to loot as they liked except the inside man and his family who I escorted personally to safety. For his aid I gave him a job as a merchant trading amber north of our kingdom.

After our successful capture of Hamburg scouts reported of a Holy Roman Empire based in our new conquered land, Not sure of their intentsions I left some of my army to be garrisoned in the new castle while I march eastward towards the pagan region of Steltin which my royal Cardinal has asked me to overthrow the pagan lord who rules pver them and restore the catholic church. Hopefully our forces will arive there shortly and expand the danish borders.

When I arrived at Steltin with half of my original army and found the inhabitants hiden behind their walls like the dogs they are, Our force althrough well trained and disiplined are outnumbered so I hired several mercanaries and began besieging the castle ready to force the rabbit out of the hole and into our blades if the lord is willing.
A messager arrived sent from my son back in Arhus telling me of a rebel force north of the city and he asking if he should counter this force or not. I replied to him to recuit more soldiers and march as many as you see fit leaving a respectable garrison to protect the city and put down this small revolt. Hopefully the battle will make him a man from a boy.
