Worst Natural Disasters

I was playing a campaign with the Selucids on Vh/VH. I had crushed Parthia and Egypt and was marching towards Armenia from the east. Then a terrible earthquake shock the ground and half of my army got killed. My army consisted of elephants (both ordinary and war elephants), a general, archers, chariots, phalanxes etc. I had to retrain almost my whole army. I can't say how much it destroyed. I hate when this kind of natural disasters happen, and when they strike, they strike hard. I've seen armies getting devastated at Etna and such things.

What's your worst natural disaster and how bad did it hit you? Write and explain.

None really. Though a nasty barrage of storms along the African cost me 3 Good Sclipii generals in quick succession.

I think my small Scipii army was obliterated or half obliterated in that earthquake either near Capua or Messena (Can't remember which one). And yes, loads of damned storms! I knew i needed to build more temples of Neptune to praise him. Now i never take ship journeys that take more than 2 turns.

My glorious first Legion (all around 5 to 7 xp) just came back to Arretium (?) to retrain. The turn the retraining was finished an earthquake hit Arretiurm, killing almost half of the civil population and the legion And Arretium was almost ready for a city upgrade ...

A violent storm sank a small fleet carrying nearly an entire generation of family members on their way to govern rowdy Greek cities. I lost 7 out of 8 of the family members I put on board -all no older than 30. It was a black, black day for the Julii.

A Natural Disaster helped me, I was the Epirots and had just taken Syracuse and was going to move on Messiana (i think, the top right hand city in sicilly anyway) When the Romans were besiging it with a Half Stack, and if they succeded they would have cut me off and could expell me from sicilly alltogether when Etna killed them all allowing me to roll in and take Messiana and then conquer all of sicilly

Hah! Etna, I love it I thought it was always cool. I remember there was another eruption late in the game, the pompei*sp?* one.

Yes, but I dont get that eruption because I never finish any campaign!
