lol - I've just realized I had baghdad favoured by egypt when it should be the turks.
@nerazzurri - What do you mean by renaming the map.rwm file. Just give it any old name and it will replace it next time you run the game?
@delra - fixed.
What about Astrakhan? Turks or Kiev?
Hi KK, Just this morning I installed SS for the first time and I'm very impressed. Now I'm wondering why I didnt found out earlier.
After reading all the features I installed 4.0 and updated it to 4.1. I started to play as England. To my supprise King Henry got the trait "blantantly overconfident" which made him loose 6 command points. Now I read that the overconfidence and dishonour traits have been disabled?! How is it possible it has appeared?
Can you tell me how to fix it? I've got no experience yet with changing the files of MTW2...
Thanks, Future
double post sorry.

This is the first bug I found so far:
Denmark gives me an offer from England...
This is the most reported bug I think. It is fixed by installing Neruzzi's fix and then 4.1. The fix is here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=110476
I would like to add to my previous bug "report" that crash occurs when Scotland's army of King, Family Member, 2 x Highland nobles moves to engage my army of Family member, 2 x Armoured Sergeants, 2 X Longbow, 2 x Light Men at arms, 2 x Billmen & 1 x Galloglaich.
So any suggestions what to try? If my save works for somebody could somebody auto resolve that battle and save it after it?
I've updated the version on my site. There are a few differences from yours:-
Dublin (England), Munster (England), Pamplona (Spain) and Baghdad (Turks) are all changed due to historical control.
I've set Astrakhan to Mongols, since they're the only faction I can find that definitely controlled it at some point and I figured it might actually encourage them to settle down rather than roam around aimlessly as they seem to whenever I see them.
I've set Thebes to Egypt rather than Moors as well.
I've edited mine accordingly.
Edit: I could be wrong but I have a feeling it only effects the disposition of the populace toward the faction occupying the settlement. i.e if a region favours a particular faction, that faction will have less problems with unrest if they occupy the region.

Yeah basically if the faction occupying the settlement isn't the favoured faction the settlement is 15% more unhappy (10% for castles - well 7.5% but it get rounded up). This shows as Unrest in the Public Order section of the Settlement Details scroll. Obviously for cities this means that quite often you can sustain a higher tax rate in your core settlements (which of course for England meant everywhere previously).

that's interesting. because you installed the second mod, or edited. if you have confusion find out it in the medieval 2 main folder /data/banners section.
i think your other mod or something have been accidentally over write it there i think
here is the file for you delete the folder called banners from
c:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data
download this zip file and unpack it in the same place [data folder]
c:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data

I think that cost of Turkish horse Archers, or their stats are messed up:
Turkish Horse Archers:
A : 3 (m 3)
D : 2
C : 4
Cost : 560
Turcomans
A : 4 (m 4)
D: 6
C: 4
Cost : 470
