Re: republic of venice ' faction
They are the same as in vanilla and from what i've read, they resemble armies of Venice. One thing that is fixed is their armor upgrades, they don't make them fight like peasants anymore.

Re: republic of venice ' faction
I've noticed that the Venetian Archers and their heavy infantry have altered(much better) skins. They also have their own shield and body textures for knights, which I believe are historically accurate, there is the venetian lion on some shields and other heraldric designs.

Re: republic of venice ' faction
I believe that KK added a bunch of new shields to all factions from some mod aimed at creating them. I can't remember its name though...

Re: republic of venice ' faction
Did King's Banner include shield designs?
Edit: Nevermind...the 4.0 release list says "new and unique shield textures for all Catholic nations", but doesn't list a mod, so perhaps KK did it himself.

Re: republic of venice ' faction
Oh, king's banners. Thanks guys. KK didn't take all of them though. He didn't like polish ones for example...

Re: republic of venice ' faction
As to your original question about historical accuracy, I can't say whether the units are or aren't accurate, but Venice is definitely a very good looking faction and one of my favorites to play.
