Speeding Up The World Map Between Turns?

I am playing Barbarian Invasion and as you know a lot of factions start out with tons of armies on the map. I assign them locations to move towards. Now it is irritating as hell to wait watching them move individually, slowly, at the end of each turn. Is there a way to eliminate this or speed it up?

Pressing space bar will make the characters move faster. If you do not wish to wait to see every faction do its moves, press escape go to game options I think and set it to skip AI movement.

Yes but then it skips over the useful things, such as the obvious "I'm going to attack you" when a diplomat talks to a city but no negotiations appear or an enemy army moving through your lands.

Wait, when a diplomat stops by a city and says nothing it means they're gunna attack me?

If you see a diplomat trying to talk to a city/army but you don't see the negotiating window pop up, that means the diplomat was trying to bribe your people.
