Default Crashing when starting a battle

    Hello,

I've just downloaded this mod and applied it on a vanilla Medieval 2 + patch 1.2

Now the game starts of fine, I can select a faction and start the campaign. However, each time I try to start a battle (fight battle on map) the game crashes. It just turns black and the cursor changes into the "loading" cursor (sandwatch thing). I'm still able to freely use my mouse and can see that it changes into the regular Windows cursor when I point at the middle of my screen (the error screen?) and click on it and make Medieval 2 shut down.

What I noticed is that I can see the start of the battle with my army lining up, but the map itself being black (as if there is no data for the combatmap).

Is there anyone able to help me with this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Did you unpack the patch?

What do you mean by unpacking the patch? And what patch?

I installed the 1.2 patch over the vanilla M2TW.

gracias ace.....but unfortunatly no help there since i cant even start battles with an unpatched, clean vanilla-install....probably i must make any change in the Vista security config. or edit somehow the mw-config file. The game starts to load the battle and at 50% it crashes with an unexpected error(by the way, do expected errors exist?.-)

in the system log it tells me about missing files....

if you read through it you will see that they mention something about security issues with the folders, that is probably why it shows as missing files
