    Default 480 soldiers per unit

    Hello,

    Is there any way to add new animals in descr_animals txt? I figured out a way to add units up to 480 soldiers vice 243 by just making the unit a handler and make the animal into a soldier. But the only problem is that there are only 2 animals (pigs and wardogs). I'm not sure if it's hardcoded. If I can have more than 2 animals its possibble to have double the amount of soldiers (10,000 instead of 5,000) in one stack. wwwoooooaaaawwww

    Your G card will die!

    Animals, In a way, are probably, slightly, hard coded. The Hardcoded limit for unit numbers is more than 12, less than 300. Changing the amount of units that you can control is The GUI and editing it is impossible and illegal.

    In the EDU the animal type must be coded in plural. Have you checked that?

    I don't think you'd want that. Your com is sure to lag. But back on topic, i think you can create new animal types.

    My geforce 8800 gtx and my quad core has enough power. I just cant figure out how to add a new animal. It says "expect valid animal id after 'animal'. I added a new animal on descr_animal.txt. It seems to load fine but the ctd is coming from the export_descr_unit.txt. 480 soldiers per unit is a break through but it ctd when the skeleton is not fs_fast_pilum or fs_javelinman. And I had to change the descr_sounds_units_ambient.txt and descr_sounds_units_anims.txt so they dont bark or make any animal sounds.

    Then perhaps something that you are trying to change is hardcoded.

    I was hoping it wasn't. Maybe some moderator master can enlighten a young padawan like me of the ways of the txt.

    Even if you get this bit to work, the unit won't function as you want it to. Animal units have a different behaviour then a regular unit. When the unit attacks only the animals really attack, the handlers just sit there and watch, also if you try and attack the animals it actually seems to have your unit attack the handlers instead.

    I did notice that. The soldiers attacks runs and attacks and runs and attack while the handler just stays in guard mode. If I get it to work I probably just make the weeker units like militia have this trait. They fight in an undisciplined manner anyways. I tried it with 35,000 soldiers on the battle map with no lag. Its complete Mayhem!!! Talkin about a battle in epic proportions. Thats probably why CA limit the soldiers because its pretty hard to keep track with all the units. I know I did.
