Fatal Graphics Error?

I just tried to fight a siege battle (me as attacker) and CTDed with a Fatal Graphics error. Doesn't say anything in the error message, didn't write it down- just that it may be because I have graphics set to high- TEH?

AMD 4000+ A64 San Diego
2GB Patriot PC3200 1gbx2 ram
ATi X1950pro 512MB AGP8X
- other misc stuff.

I've never gotten this error before. I just reinstalled Medieval II a few hours ago.

I'm using LTC 3.0, playing a VH/VH campaign with the Danes.

What gives?

Ok, what graphical settings do you play at? Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card as well. Maybe you should turn down the graphics a bit!

I'm running the latest ATi drivers.

Turning down the graphics? I could run this game with the same settings with my 6800GT. The X1950Pro is twice as powerful a card- I don't believe I should have any trouble with the game. I expect low fps if I max every single setting out- but I haven't done that- I'm nowhere even close.

Turning down the graphics is worth a try, however. I have a better PC than you, and even I cannot max out at a high resolution.

Object Detail - Lowest
Building Detail - Low
Effects Detail - Medium
VSync OFF (Also forced by ATi panel)
no AA
Trilnear filtering
No Bloom
Shader 2
Medium Shadows

Not much more I can think of.

I haven't been able to reproduce the crash. Maybe it was a fluke occurence- I hope so..


Ta so far. If all else fails, ill try lowering the settings.

What resolution are you running at? I doubt there is a single card out there that runs MTW2 smoothly in 1600x1200 with everything on max. Having a x1950PRO myself I can guarantee you can not run this game smoothly with everything on max at very high resolutions.
