    Default Implement New Factions

I am quite new to modding the game myself and since I loved the Flanders faction in DLV, I am wondering how to implement it in TLR, if it is possible anyways.

I would be gratefull if someone could answer me if it is possible to implement another faction into TLR without too much skill and if yes, how this is possible?

    Thanks!

there r some tutorials around the Mod workshop, it is a time consuming thing to do and I know torn will add some in the future but not for next version.

You could always post your results and let the rest of us know how it went.

Okay, I just had more time than I thought and got behind it by myself (I guess). It's exactly what I was afraid of - very time consuming. But somehow it's also fun to see the result working. At least I hope I will.

I reduced all the files to only the ones neccecary for Flanders and which do not interfere with TLR and will probably change all the files in the TLR data file tomorrow.

I guess it's not something difficult to do but just - as already being said - time consuming. But if that's what I have to do to get on with my Flemish city states, that's what will be done..

PS: Is there a tutorial for modding new provinces as well? I'd like to add Bremen to the map as a new city.

well, you can also find stuff about making new regions, it is only that we ar at the hardcoded maximum, so if you wanted to do that you would have to eliminate another.

Well that would explain why it didn't work... So if I would like to add Bremen as a region, I'd have to kill anotherone.

I guess I'll delete one in the far east to get mine.

After Bremen works I'll try to implement Flanders. Now wish me luck that I'll figure out how to do everything correct...

Edit: Actually, if I only implement Flanders and not add a new region, is there any way I could prevent that I would have to "reimplement" Flanders into every new TLR version? I like the faction but if I would have to do this for every new version, I'd rather wait for the new one and then do it.

well, look at it this way,

TLR 2.01 won´t be out anytime soon, so you can use this version as a tryout of your implementation, balance etc.

As the bad news are that you will probably have to redo it in every version, unless ofcourse, we manage to convice torn to include them as a "Oficial" faction, but if I remember right we r going to concentrate in the middle east and east part of the map for new factions. One thing for sure is that this will not happen anytime soon.

JUST REMEMBER WHAT FILES YOU REWROTE AND WHAT TEXTURES YOU ADDED AND WHERE SO YOU CAN REDO IT QUICKER!!!

That's true for sure as well. I guess I'll leave Flanders for a while though and concentrate on adding a few provinces I would like to have, just to get a bit used to mess with files.

I could then start out my first serious HRE campaign. Funny how I forgot about them although I'm actually one of them in the broad sense...
