Default Baxon7 and others who asked about my revised interface . . .

I revised to Roman interface to remove the mural and leave a clean background

If you'd like to download it, you can from here.

To install it, replace the SAME file in the DATA>pak>UI_1_pak>_DATA_RS>UI>roman>INTERFACE directory.

Then, run the new_ui.bat that is in your Roma Serrectum root directory. If you do NOT run this bat, the new interface will not show up.

In the future, I may do some photoshopping on it and color it or something.

    Good Luck.

    THANKS YOU

I don't know what the big deal was. I like the interface.

It wasn't a "big deal." I orginally asked how to replace the UI because the mural interface made it difficult to see the buildings and troops. I imagined, at the time, it was a simple fix. I was told that I could either (1) keep using the Roman interface or (2) use the Greek interface (which is still difficult on the eyes). No other solution was offered. Because, it was a .tga file, I simply opened Photoshop and wiped away the mural. Now it's easy to see the buildings.

    See? No big deal.

No offense I had no problem seeing the troops and the buildings. But for others I guess it was.

    Seriously, no offense was taken.

And I didn't mean any offense to the creator of the interface. You were right: it does look cool (I prefer the greek one). But with the mixture of colors it was just too hard to see the buildings.

And let add this: I know a lot of work went into this mod, and I really do appreciate this work. I think the units are great and I love having the chance to play with specific legions.

The thing about any mod is the creators makes it the way they want it (and in the stickies above, it even says that). No problem. But if I'm going to enjoy the mod, I may have to change things.

For example, in this mod I changed:

    The User Interface

The Weather and Cloud settings (Red Sky At Noon Means Death!!!)

I reinstated the working blacksmith tech tree, with 4, 6, and 8 year settings.

I'm working on doing something to make my financial life harder.

To make matter completely insane, I did a double install and in my second install:

I modded the Marian Reforms to occur on the first turn.

I set the year of the game at 140 B.C. (just an arbitrary date).

I eliminated all my armies. All of them. At turn 1, I just have leaders.

I elimated my treasury. I have just 100 gold.

I gave four of my seven territories back to the "Free People". Now I have to retake most of Italy.

And I play by the rule that I can only raise one of each legion with a corresponding auxila legion. So, at the opening of the game, I can only have two legions that I can raise (or four stacks). But I have to get the money first, as well as raising city barracks troops.

It it historically accurate? Not at all. Is it fun? You bet! At least it is for me. Besides, Mom always said I just can't leave stuff alone . . .

But here's the point: I couldn't do any of this without the creative effort put in to making this mod. So I do appreciate it and I'm glad it was done.

    Actually, 2 x 0 is more than just 0. It's TWO zeros.
