Crash with 1.2 patch vista 64bit

I have bought this game yesterday and tried to install the 1.2 patch today. But if i try to install the patch it crashes directly .Unpacking the patch goes fine, but when i hit 'next' in the window to install it crashes (update error in the first second).

I think i tried everything:
-compatibility mode
-clean install (already did 2 times, now i'm stopped.. getting very angry)
-read every forum on the internet
-downloaded the patch from 2 diffrent locations

But the most Vista-players having problems with starting the game on 1.2, but i'm not even getting close to install the patch. I read about the unpacker, but i don't have any clue what it is, why i should use it and how i should use it. Is the unpacker a sort manual unpack if the patch doesn't work?

at last it worked, uninstalled the game for the third time, install it again and the patch doesn't crash anymore! Pffff, sorry, but the game is very nice, but that is very ****** programmed
