    Default Stability & Reliability

    Hi,

I've been playing Vanilla for a while but I am now interested in a Mod. LTC is looking one of the favourites to download but I am worried about it's stability and reliability i.e. is it glitchy and does it crash a lot or give problematic gameplay?

Well if it installs right over a clean M2TW 1.2 install it should be no more glitchy or buggy than normal M2TW. 3.1 which will hopefully be out at the weekend will fix a few thigns here and there but mostly it is a very stable mod. I wouldn't release it if it wasn't.

Great stuff, thanks for the reply. I hope you weren't offended by the question but I have never downloaded a Mod for a game and I am not very techy so was worried about how they work. In fact one of the main reasons I chose yours was because of the helpful download instructions!

Being new to this sort of thing I was concerned about the number of Bug posts across the Mod threads so was naturally concerned that they may be problematic.

The list of improvements made on 3.0 sound excellent though and inline with things I would change personally - if I knew how...

    Cheers

PS. My current install is a clean purchased Vanilla with DVD ROM. I have downloaded the 1.2 patch (from a link you posted I think) but am yet to install it. My Vanilla has crashed, but only once.

You will need to install 1.2 for LTC to work properly.

For what it's worth, I'm 170 turns into a 3.0 French campaign and it's all been running very smoothly; as well as if not better than vanilla.

The only thing I've noticed is that the "switching off the movie" option (spies etc.) isn't saved between sessions, which is hardly worth mentioning - lol.

Where LTC wins hands down for me, over some Med 2 mods, is in its subtlety - less is more! All in all a very satisfying experience.

That was it's appeal for me. If it solves the majority of the basic issues with Vanilla then it's ideal for me. I don't want an over-modded mod that's packed full of random tweaks and sparkly bits. Less is more.
