What is your FAVORITE unit in Vanilla

Not the most powerful as that, if it were to be totally true, would have to be divided between most powerful Heavy infantry, light infantry....etc So... what is your favorite?

Scots Guard for me because they are one of the best bowmen in the game, while being very capable troops and have 9 morale.

Varangian Gaurd, i just love them. If i was born in the Dark Ages being a Varganian would be my ambition

English Retinue Longbowmen because of their range and power whilst sieging and whilst being sieged as well as in the field. They're also handy if it comes to toe-to-toe fighting with their secondary weapon.

I have six units in every army and have decimated forces without ever charging the enemy.

Norse Swordsmen.

and I use "Sudanese Tribesmen Mercs" as a raiding force for european cities, makes them shiver when they see my black raiders, rapers and burners coming works good in exterminate, prisoner executing, high dread campaigns. Adds a lot to the atmosphere

Well if it is not the most powerfull unit, but the ones i most like ,it would def be CONQUISTADOOORES i just love to select them and hear that, plus their renssaisance (sp?) armour looks nice upgraded or not, and on the battle of pavia when they charge the 3k aztecs alone, and cry SAAANTIAAAGO!

as for the most powerfull , i'd say MONGOL HEAVY ARCHERS , they totally own everything , they would be my favourite unit also if weren't for the COONQUISTADOOOOORES.

Gotta agree with Marto. English Retinue Longbowmen with just a few unit of pike or great melee inf and a general can hold anything (or nearly). Devastating unit.

My favourite unit is Dvor Cavalry, cuz it looks so cool with those mask and shining armor and is very versatille/multi-function unit.
And horse archers in general is one of the best unit class in M2TW, don't think I have to explain why
