Vista and gamersgate

im trying to dl my copy of vicky off of gamersgate. i have had no issues with it before..until i got this laptop here. check what it said:

unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quite the application will close immediately.

acces to the path 'C:\log.txt' is denied

i continue but nothing happens: heres what the details are:

now i dont know what exactly im suppost to do to fix this. Anybody know how? and if you do step by step so i get it done quick and easy? i have a mp game i have to play by thursday....which you guessed it..... is tommorow

Try running the application with elevated privileges (right click > run as administrator)

Couldn't you download it on an XP computer and transfer it across? (The installer that is).

i didnt want vista..vista is trash but nobody sells laptops without vista. bummer. yeah im trying to get used to the extra stupdity thats come with vista stuff. im gunna try to do that extra privilage thing. god this is retarded the game starts at 10pm...and i still have loads to dl to be ready

BTW there is no run as. all there is is open. when u click open it just runs

Right click on either the shortcut or the .exe itself and there is a Run as Admin option. If you dont like the extra Vista stuff then switch to Classic Windows view and in Performance Options remove all the flashy stuff. You can also kill all the gadgets and stuff that run at boot.

Try it on the executable not on the shortcut, some shortcuts dont have that. Its the developers option.

ddint work either way. ive right clicked from every angle. i also tried to see if run as admin was there at all, and i right clicked on rtw and there it was. So i dont understand why it doesnt show up for gamers gate
