i may buy a new toshiba laptop, it has 1024 ram 256meg vid card and a 1.8mgz celeron M processor. yay or nay?

Yeah it should be fine. I only have 1gig ram and I'm running vista which uses up a lot, as well as having a crappy video card that's 512mb but only 256 dedicated (meaning 256mb of ram is used to make it up to the whole 512). Even with this I still run the game on 1400x900 and with all setting on highest but only shader 1 (no reflections and fancy bloom for me).

Yeah but not really that well. It won't be too bad at small unit size and low size.... no thousands of troops for you.

I think the processor will be the main cause of laggy gameplay.
