are there any plans to have some cavalry which are recruitable in italy after the marian reforms? as of now, i cant make any there, and i was almost crushed my some germanic stacks invading italy. thank god for gallic LC mercs, or italy would have been a germanic italy, not roman, by now!

By the time of the Marian reforms the economy of Italy had changed drastically and cavalry no longer came from the peninsula. You need to rely on mercs and auxiliary cavalry from Iberia, Gaul, and Germania.

hey, by the marian reforms, most of the roman army was foreigners, recruited for their indigenous abilities:

    balearic slingers

    numidian light infantry and skirmishers

    gallic cavalry ect.

not quite true. Up until the late 1st century AD, most of the infantry was still recruited from Italy

I think you mean heavy infatry (legionaire) and he means the light one, the auxiliari and cavalry... So you both are right

If there are any changes to Roman cavalry ... I would like to see the current stock either reduced in size or ability. They are to good right now ... and there is no reason to hire mercs.
