Although I absolutely love SS 4.0, the vanilla music is starting to bug me. Has anybody got a good music mod that can be used with SS 4.0?
If so, how do I install it?

Are there any music mods? If not, load up a CD instead. I recommend the soundtracks to 300 and Gladiator.![]()
What about...Far above the clouds - Mike Oldfield? In the middle of the battle.....
I hope you enjoy what I've done for the MTW2-Kingdoms-SS mod:
A music mod would be pretty coolStrange that none of the modders has made one yet!
Come on give me a break, this is a mod not a real game. I use mods for almost all my games and none of them cares about copyright. As long as you dont ask money for the mod I dont think its a problem.

uhm yeah so? do you have the rights to distribute the copyrighted files ? if not then distributing it via a mod is also illegal, regerdless of the fact wether you get any money from it or not. making one for your own homemade purposes can be legal if your local laws allow it but that depends on where you live.
I made myself a great music mod with Braveheart, Kingdom of Heaven, Troy, and Gladiator music but I can't give it out to people since that's illegal.![]()

Just do the "Main data folder" method, and then copy the event.idx and event.dat files over into your SS/data/sounds folder.
c'mon! thats crazy.
you can share music with your friends if they dont pay you. and we are all friends here, right?
that is no way against the law.
I'd love to see a modder do a music mod, but there is a risk involved.
I'm in advertising, and I deal with music usage often. I'm sorry to say, but all of the current soundtrack music we all love is rights protected and for private use only -- no distribution. Should a modder be caught using such music, he probably would only get a "cease and desist" from the music label's lawyers. Still, it is officially illegal.
If any of you played "The Crusades" mod for R:TW, you know how effective a music mod is, as it included tunes from KoH and many others. Great stuff.
oh and another recommendation is the LotR soundtrack, works magic as its calms down when imm in campaign mode and always seems to play the thundrous rousing music when im a battle![]()
