No that guys age was really rare for me too. My generals rarely live beyond 60.
Well there is thread like this and one guy says he got guy around 200 years old.....
I think he was living in the most helthiest city in the world......

Hader, and thats only because he reloaded the game every time the guy died(needless to say it took forever), My oldest was around 82.
You save at the end of every turn. If the guy dies, load the game and try it again. You could keep him alive as there is no age where he must die. -Leon
It is rather. My oldest was the starting Macedonian Leader who lived till the age of 91.

I regularly get family members who live into the late 70s, with no effort on my part whatsoever. I keep them in cities until they're about 22-24, then send them on campaigns. If they're mediocre generals, I end up sending them to govern somewhere around the age of 50 -- if not, I keep them in the field.
Keep in mind that my approach can play havoc with the traits, but I'm too lazy and expand too quickly to micromanage that aspect of my game.

Now as Carthage I attacked Rome immidiatley and destryoed all Roman families with my faction leader who has 65 in begging , now he has 85 , cool !

I once met an enemy Egyptian general at the age of 89. He was the pharao and that was almost my first encounter with the Egyptians in the game.
Yeah....and my general would have lived forever if it wasnt for the damned plague in Italy! After conquering all of Gaul, Spain, Germania, Britannia, and Dacia between the ages of 80 and 160, I thought I would let him conquer the city of Rome and live there peacefully until I took out the Egyptians on the other side of the map. Unfortunetly, I forgot about the historical event triggering a plague in Italy....
