Default Could this thing last another year maybe?

I'm getting a new processor with a motherboard and RAM with it, so I'll just add my vid card for now, but do you think it'll run the stuff out now and coming out soon, like Bioshock?

    Athlon 64 3500
    1gig RAM
    Radeon X850(pro or XT, I don't remember)

And would a 450watt powersupply work with newer stuff? I just got it(an Antec) after my previous one blew up. I'm worried maybe I wasted money(about $100 something) on something that won't even work when I want to upgrade when AMD brings out its new stuff next year and Vista's broken in.

Also, the video card, got it about a year and a half ago, haven't really even put it to good use yet, and it seems like it's already completely outdated.

If it can last another year maybe, I wouldn't feel like too much money was wasted, but really the main thing I want to be able to play is Bioshock and Supreme Commander, should this run those games?

Run? Yeah sure, not at the highest settings but it will run them.
What new motherboard, cpu, etc are you getting?

And the PSU should be able to handle that card and any other stuff. I only have a 480 watt PSU (Antec Neopower) and it chuggs along just fine being hooked upto to 3 hard drives, dual core cpu, 8800GTS, sound card, fan controller, 4-5 fans, optical drive, and whatever else is in there.

The new parts I'm getting are the A64 3500. I have a Athlon 2400 in now. Unless you meant what I'm getting when I completely upgrade my computer which I'm not sure of yet, I just heard AMD was bringing out some 8 core processors or something and figured I'd wait to see if they're better than Intel's.
And good about the PSU, I'm not sure how much difference in power it is between 1 and 3 hard drives, but I'll most likely only have one in there.

If i'm not mistaken hard drives take up to 15w depending on the model, brand and size.

If you've got a socket 939 motherboard I'd suggest trying to find a dual core opteron 165 or 175 and overclocking it. Even at stock the 175 beat my old 3500 which was overclocked to 2800mhz, and at the 3.0ghz I have the dual opty now there is no comparison.
