Original Post Cautioned:
AI, artificial intelligence, is based on Boolean logic. Human thought is based on Hegelian logic. If you can't tell the difference, then there is no point in further discussing this thread.
Go read some Hegel before you come back and try to "debate" things with me.
and #2
Both of those cautions are not very bad. Personally I will say yesAh! I see he's been banned.
Good show and good riddance.
Lmao... thats caution worthy?
Not really a big problem either. Quite minor.
So those are each non-factors in my reasoning. I rather like his posting. And his "Theological Treatise" series gives him a distinctive flair. Voted yes.

I voted yes, while he might have couple cautions, he is not a regular offender. Also, these threads proved me that he deserves the rank.
Thanatos's Theological Treatise #1
Thanatos's Theological Treatise #2
(One note; everything is meant to be cautionworthy - every little edit in breach of the ToS. Its what cautions are for)

My point was that I don't see how that post is even vaguely in breach of the ToS. I guess if you wanted to draw out the comment really far you could argue that his "if you can't tell the difference" comment was am implication that the other poster was stupid, but it was more saying the other poster didn't know what he was talking about, which he apperently didn't. Pointing out that the other poster is incorrect is his understanding is kind of half the point of debate, so thats hardly caution worthy.
Whatever though, I'm not here to argue staff's caution. It simply isn't going to affect my vote.

I would say that Thanatos is an above average member of TWC and therefore will give him a vote of "yes".
Those cautions are lame too.

You keep on saying this, but it's not true. The ToS still must be breached for a caution to be given, and it's unclear if it was in at least one of those cases.
Actually, as a participant in that debate ― which was a thread about AI in the Athenaeum, not anything philosophy-related ― it was Thanatos who had no idea what he was talking about. Thanatos was completely out of his depth and was being infuriatingly stubborn about it. His suggestion that people need to read Hegel to understand artificial intelligence was typical of his "contributions" there. I really wanted to stab the bugger. Hate those philosophy types who think they know about science. Still probably Citizen material, but only because I don't think soundness of argument comes into it much.
Anyway, it should be noted that that caution was paired with a warning for Gaidin, the target of that remark, who responded poorly to it. Looked at in isolation, I would agree that the caution was excessive. Although looking back I still want to stab him.
Ozymandias said that: "every little edit in breach of the ToS." I realize he prefaced it with "everything" but I think that was a clear misnomer since it's absurd to think that every post should be cautioned and Ozymandias usually isn't absurd.
Anyhow, that aside, I agree the cautions were minor and the second especially wouldn't have stood an appeal. However, I hold Civitates to a higher standard and I find him excessively haughty and demeaning to others.
I cant say no to Thanatos. Much deserved, and I was thinking of patronizing himself myself.
