Most Incompetent General

Because there's already a Great Generals' thread, I would like to do the opposite and share incompetent family members. The family black sheeps, those that didn't use to get much atention 'till now.

I might come with more in the future, but I remember one general of mine: Craven Coward, No Taste for Blood, Poor Farmer and Useless Asessor. No pics, though, just memory.

My worst was an general of the Thracians who was fat, ugly and a corrupt gouverneur. The people hated him and the cost for bribery weren't high. The best achievement was dying for his home country against the Scyths.

I had one Greek general, he was ugly, usseles assesor, poor farmer, no influence, no managment, no command, poor health, dangerolusy mad and so...... I sent him to die against the selucides but he didn't want to he was stayng alive every battle and getting worse! So I sent him agains the rebel navy on ship and he was sinked, poor end for poor man.

In Barbarian Invasion, there's this Roman general that's called the "Lily Livered" who is horrible at fighting despite his night fighter trait.

No ****...is this in Barbarian Invasion? I got the exact same character, I think I even have a screenshot of him. I should read the whole thread before I post, it's BI.

It wasn't exactly an Icompetent General, this general was a 3 star general at the age of 16 and got another star at 20 by leading a small attack on Salona, I found that he gets i think it was 10 stars in attack.

He had 4 stars normally, +1 for attacking rebals +2 for attacking walls and +3 for preist of Mars. He went around with my main general and was going to take over from him after he got to 70, but he got so many bad traits after awhile and went down to 2 stars, no mangement or influenece, i hate a good general go so low then one who is bad at the start.

Same happened to me once. I had 16 years old 5 star general with Egypt. I conquered some towns with him and came to the right end of the map( beneath Parthia) and left him to govern some city there. After some years he started to fall down and later he was nothing I think soldier would govern better then him. What a shame...................

I like generals with no stats, its a fresh start and you can send him up to a big conquest and make him have positive general traits.

Because I don't like to micromanage my family, I get lots of crazy/drunk/extravagant family members. I use them to run around squashing rebels and building watchtowers.

I even have one whose name changed from Aulus the Mad to Aulus Victor because he kicked so much rebel ass. He's normally 0-star, 0-management 0-influence, but with his conditional bonuses he has 7 stars against rebels!

The Sad Story of Lucius the Vanquisher.

This man conquered Northern Italy, Gaul, Spain, and Britain.

He was allowed to rest on a small border town near Germany.

Sadly I grew wealthy, and this hardened Veteran lost his touch and became a corrupted petty Governor.

I figured I'd let him die a nice death leading a Legion to glorious victory.

I sent him alone against a rebel army.

I autoed it, he won.

I tried to kill him again by charging him in front of Greek Hoplites.

He still lived.

I figured a man this good just could'nt die and let him live in a fort guarding the bridge from Masilla to Mediolanium.

I wish I took a screenshot, I actually had this guy tonight. Julianus the mad, or something of the sort. Anyway, he had horrible traits, -3 command, -3 influence and made me less popular with the people. So I sent him(just him) to besiege the last spanish town. They sallied, and I sent him in, hoping he'd die, and take as many with him so he could leave an easy path for my best general, Marcus the Great, who was also in Spain. He did die.

I have had a general who was mad. He had 0 in every trait (or less), and had a morale bonus of -6. 0 stars and minus six in morale! He also had bad health, so he couldn't be used for anything. He was extravagant, useless assessor etc.

in IBFD I had the pro consul of sorts of Africa, I don't remember his name; but I wanted the trait to go to a more capable general. This guy was bad... a soft life in Carthage made him that way I guess.

Well, I sent him with a few lower tier units against the Berber army sitting at the border; it was like 100 vs. 550 or 600, can't remember. But at anyrate, this guy didn't want to die! His entire command was destroyed, his bodyguard was decimated, but whenever it dropped below 10 men they routed. The next turn I did it again, but with him alone attacking 300 men, and he took out almost a hundred with twenty men before routing.

After a dozen times of him routing and escaping, and his traits still suckin it up (but getting MASSIVE hitpoints), I said whatever. I put him in command of a fort and took the fort's commander, a no-trait guy, to the city of Carthage where he learned a few things, then put HIM in the field with an army to prove himself. He, of course, died in the second battle...

Incompetent generals who doesn't want to die is a problem. I've had several my self, but the worst was when an enemy general alone (without bodyguard) killed off 100 of my men! This was in M2 though, but anyway, that guy didn't want to die!
