It would require entirely new units and a new map, but a English civil war mod would be great.

The engine should handle it, muskets and pikes and cavalry all were standard fare during this time.

The map area could be the from the North of England to south coast, but of course on a larger scale than the current UK area, with more towns and regions.

Someone might start a mod focusing on those eras. But for as far as i know, none is in progress so it might be a long wait....
Its still worth dreaming though, such a mod would be cool.

There is a mod in development based on the War of the Roses. I saw it over at totalwar.org in the summer mod update.

well the britania campaign from kingdoms expansion should hepl out with the map (since there are plenty of regions). and as for units and factions just mod those to your liking...

I responded on this but the site went down and then was recovered from before my post. I'm working on a British map. Did one at 510*510 but its too big so now reduced to a 300*300 map. I'll publish this year but I did it for an early British medieval scenario (If I ever get around to modding those bits).
