    Default Chanting (druids)

    Hello all,

I was allways thinking what does chanting, as druids special ability, do?:hmmm:
In druid description says that it inspires nearby troops. But how, do they get attack/defence bonus, morale bonus....

    If somebody knows please tell.

    Thanks in advance.

I belive it gives a slight morale bonus. I normally just don't use it though.

They are slightly useful, they give a morale boost to your guys and a slight morale decrease to the other guys (I think). So, being Brittania or Gaul (whose infantry is rather morale deprived compared to other factions), they are useful.

In the early game they can help you out against your barbarian and NON-marian reforms Rome. They're especially good with Chariots hence why Britannia is often see using them.

    Otherwise don't bother.

Screeching women have a better effect on the enemy. But I agree it can boost the morale of Celtic Infantry; these, including the Dacians, can be scared very easily by whatever the enemy has, and lack discipline and cohesion.

Basically, the only barbarians I find worthy to be played are either the Germans or the Scythians. The Scythians, because of their superb horse archers, and the Germans, because of their unmatched Barbarian shock troops and fear instilling capabilities. Any combination of Night Raiders + Berserkers + Screeching Women behind your line will melt the enemy line without much fighting. Add to this the excellent offensive stats of German infantry, and even Rome will have a hard time fighting them.
"Romans not only easily conquered those who fought by cutting, but mocked them too. For the cut, even delivered with force, frequently does not kill, when the vital parts are protected by equipment and bone. On the contrary, a point brought to bear is fatal at two inches; for it is necessary that whatever vital parts it penetrates, it is immersed. Next, when a cut is delivered, the right arm and flank are exposed. However, the point is delivered with the cover of the body and wounds the enemy before he sees it."

Yeah I tried Germans in custom(12500 k) today vs rome. I made formation and left 4 berserkers by side. Romans had urbans, auxilas, pratorians and such.It was hard fight and then urbans attacked from my right side. I sent berserkers and trigered warcry, bloodlust. They just chrushed cohorts and continued to chrush everything in their path. If weren't them I probably would lose( the game was on vh so the ease with wich they chrushed romans suprises me!)
    if werent them!

Lol why did you bother with the other troops? 6 Bersekers can kill anything and I mean ANYTHING. Hence why there's a 2 beserker max in RTW in multiplayer.

The Germans can pretty much scare the enemy and rout them without a fight. Fear tactics are effective even against civilized armies, but against barbarians they can send all the enemy lines running for the hills.

And you forgot one little detail. The perfect fear scenario would be inside a forest, with women screeching loudly all the way, night raiders showing themselves and giving a warcry, with dogs nearby and flaming arrows being fired from all directions at night. THAT would really make me run, and run quickly. To where? Nowhere, 'cause the Germans know all the ways out.

Anyway @ Marcus Tullius Cicero, yeah, point of womans is not to fight, just to screech I allways use 2 units of them just for atmosphere. And night raiders are hell.. Actually, all germans units are

And not sure, but think bersekers are barking

Druid's chanting is to annoy the enemy to death. Although, whenever I use druids they usually end up annoying me.
