Default The game is set in the age of feudalism, so...

...why not make the game seem a bit more feudal? Make each area you conquer have a specific feudal lord and you get bonuses if he is running the settlement in question and gets alienated if you put some other lord in his demesne (the the other lord is more likely to run the demesne badly).

The game need at least some game mechanic to remind you that this is not the age of Imperial Rome, just with better armour and more squalor, it is the age of feudalism.

The very essence of a freely interacting civil society & indeed post-Enlightenment civilisation itself, is the personal right to own & control your own private property________

Yup, appointing governors and honorary titles: one of the best features of the old MTW - and i dearly miss it, though i have to admit it works better on a 2d map...

some mods appoint titles, i like to just restrict govenors to their territory and have seperate generals leading armys who dont ever get titles

The titles in M2TW are not nearly the same as the titles in MTW1.

Got to agree on this, even if great title/vnv mods like BBB add provincial titles, they don't nearly feel as cool and immersive as in MTW, it had that feudalism feel
I wonder why abandon old fan-praised features?

I liked the titles from the first one but since I've never played vanilla 1.2 I wasn't sure that there wasn't titles. I've usually played SS3.2 or CAE and I assumed they just added titles. I like the array of titles from DLV, with ranks and stuff, although it takes a while to get a hang of it sure is fun.
