Cannot play game

Ive tried everything, ive got the 1.5 patch ive reinstalled it 5 times, it gets to the screen with the silhouette of the knight, then a thing pops up saying error , and something about trbuchets and catapults, or sometimes an error message about the script/ peasant thing.

Could you please be more specific as to the installation details of your Rome: Total War game and C:TW mod?

from your post, I am guessing that you are trying to play C:TW using R:TW v1.5? that is fine, but please confirm so.

what version of C:TW are you talking about? the latest is 0.95

could you tell me the location of your "Rome - Total War" folder, and what is the path that you chose to install C:TW in.

To me, it seems that you CTW data folder is misplaced, maybe you installed it over your RTW data folder... but I need to know more details in order to help you.

i have rome tw 1.5 , and the version of CTW i downloaded is 0.95 from the sendspace mirror on the CTW website.



Here is the dirctory for my rome tw
C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome-TW

that is my default install path, and thats were i installed it to.
when i do this it puts a chivalry folder inside of my rtw folder.
So i go into the chivalry folder, and click on the shortcut.
It then searches for rome tw exe or whstever,
I click browse.
i click on my rome tw exe icon.
it launches.......then error....

So you have (for a reason i guess) a customised RTW directory, although you can install ChivTW into the default Rome folder, which calls:

C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War and not Rome-TW

The contained Chiv-shortcut can naturally not find your customised directory. For this reason, we have just the shortcut folder within the chivalry folder with instructions-readme, where the customising of the shortcut is explained incl. path-examples.
It makes no sense to display it here once more, as i wouldn't know, how i could explain it better than it is already in this instructions, sorry mate.

But clear is, your game-start can't work proper, if you don't copy the contained Chiv-shortcut to your desktop, and then you have to provide the correct path within this Chiv desktop-shortcut (with right-click on it and then properties you get the editable path lines), if done, then you should be able to start the game from there with double-click without problems.

I just checked the website install instructions for the full mod. They are outdated. If you ask me, there shouldn't be any direct dl-links and instructions, but just links to the stickied 'Release - Mod Info Topic'. From there, anybody gets a good overview and a good info, and the option to dl the mod and hotfix, etc..
