CTD when exterminating

Situation: I'm playing romans and was besieging Thessalonica (which contained a full garrison) with an army. During Macedon's turn they attacked me with an outside force of about 400 men, so I fought the battle and won and due to killing all the defenders of Thessalonica I automatically took the city, so I chose to exterminate, but as soon as I clicked the button the program crashed to desktop.

I can upload a save game to see if anyone else can re-create this.

Does it crash if you occupy or enslave? The Macedonians have a bug I 'think' I have fixed in the Hotfix (which for sure I will release Saturday). But, this is a rare but nagging bug in RTW as well.

does it happen also if you choose to occupy the city or to enslave the population? and is thessalonika the last macedon city? i ask this because i ve had a roman campaign in which as i conquered the last syracusan city (occupy,enslave or slay) it ctd...then i installed the hotfix and it was resolved...

It isn't Macedon's last city, I'll try and find time at some point to re-fight the battle and try enslaving/occupying.

EDIT: It crashes with enslave as well.

EDIT 2: It also crashes with occupy. So no matter what action I take, I get a CTD.

For the moment I've been able to continue my campaign my using the auto_win defender command (I lost more men using that then when I fought the battle myself though), which left some men from the garrison alive, so I just attacked my next turn and won a normal siege battle.

Ahhh, I think that answers my question. There is a bug with a couple Macedonian units, and I think I have it fixed. But good thinking on the auto_win.

what's this auto_win defender command????

Open up the console after right-clicking on an enemy stack to attack it and type (without speech marks) "auto_win" and then leave a space and type either "attacker" or "defender". Then auto-resolve the battle and the attacker or defender will be sure to win depending on what you typed in.

It can be used to cheat, but is also very useful when game-stopping bugs are encountered.
