Do you think some sort of "supreme" intelligence will ever be possible a la

Hyperion cantos? anyone familiar with the book and the story?
Dune? omg old sci-fi rocks you son.

for the sake of this arguement we are COMPLETELY removing the idea of God from our minds, we are discussing this on a purely human level.

do you think that humanity through the use of its technology or some other means will ever manifest for itself a real physical supreme, a mental supreme?

something that the species will look upon and say look there... this is god made from our own hands.

thoughts?

Ps you can use religion in the arguement itself say for the purpose of pointing out what would be necessary ( e. g. perhaps a religiously communal society)
or for the purpose of pointing out natural resistences to the creation of a "Son of Man"( a man made or evolved supreme being)

yeah sci-fi touches on the subject alot because it reflects a deeper psychological need....

of the likely scenario I do think machines stand the best chance of attaining a true Apotheosis.

well obviously science would be the only reasonable avenue to "manufacture" a physical god--- religion mainly deals with a spiritual connection

No it's not possible .Imagine the most powerful computer possible in the future with every kind of improvement .Still it will be mistaken,will give some error in some simple little thing that is not expected .It will make it stupidly ungodly .Nothing coming out from men is perfect .
Especially the ability to "hack" god is very entertaining

well I think the Human already sees itself as god, I mean all politicians for example.

And I think the freezing down function will work soon, so maybe it can work with making human a superior beings or not. Maybe they already do?
