kievan Rus have all english voices?

my Kievan Rus uses a bunch of english voice script on campaign map..

for example. i put a merchant on a supply, the "KIEVAN" merchant will say. sending these back to england right away!.

or in diplomacy I was talking to Hungary. the starting comment is
"What can england do for you?"

I have the same problem. The Kieven Rus and Aragonese are using the English voice. I downloaded the Sound Fix, but it does not seem to do what it should. I put it in my Medieval Total War II folder and I ran the msi, which installed the Sound_Fix.exe. I then ran that file.

What it did do is create a Sound Fix Backup folder and place the two files that were there in them. It did not transfer the sound files from the base install to the SS_mod sound folder. I did that manually however.

The Descr_sounds_accents.txt file does have the Aragonese under the Med category and the Rus under the Eastern European. But that was there before I ran the fix.

Could the problem be that I have the MTW2 on my G: drive instead of under C:?

The files from the base install won't fix the problem. What you need to do is remove the files you copied and let the game rebuild them (which is what the installer does - though it backs up the old ones just in case your game has a problem installing them).

Sorry, but the fix is not working. In fact, it appears to do nothing at all. I un-installed SS 4.0/4.1 and deleted any remaining files. I reinstalled both. I then applied the fix.exe and nothing happens. There are no file changes in the sound folder. No backup being made of the existing files that are there. If I run the fix a second time, it does create the backup folder and it does move the event files there, but still there is no file copies from the standard game. When I play SS4.1, both the Kiev Rus and Aragonese have English voices.

Why did they even change the original voices? do they think england owned half the world?

Scotland, Denmark, Novgorod, Kievan russ, Aragon, poland, hungary and probably more countries all act like vassals of england now.

This is rediculous and should be fixed in the next update, I dont see any reason to have ever changed them to the english voice set.

As I said the reason it doesn't copy the files from the standard game is because these will not fix the problem. Once the backup has been made and the existing events files have been removed run SS and new events files will be created.

Thank you for the clarification. It did work as you said. One interesting item is that if you un-install SS4.0/4.1 and then re-install it, you need to re-run the .msi for the Sound Fix for it to work. I tried multiple times to get it to after the un-install/re-install, but it did not work until I re-ran the .msi, told it to do a repair and the .exe would work.

hmm.. it sounds like a lot of fuss.

I still cant understand how this mistake could ever happen though, why does it affect half the nations and not all? not that I want it to mess up my entire game but I wonder why its like this still. I wont play any faction with a messed up voiceset.
